Project's description

Bay Harbor Lake is one of Northern Michigan's more unusual waterways — a still, protected basin connected to Little Traverse Bay, built to anchor a community centered on boating and harbor life. This home sits right in that setting, a short walk from the yacht club and fronted by a private beach, with the kind of calm water views that make Bay Harbor feel distinct from the open lake just beyond it.

The renovation was approached with that setting in mind. The exterior was reimagined from the ground up, with new siding and trim restoring a clean, cohesive presence to the home's façade. A full-view glass railing system replaced the previous decking approach, opening the home's outdoor spaces to the water in a way that feels closer to open air than enclosed porch — an unbroken line from the living space to the harbor beyond.

Inside, the kitchen was reworked as the heart of the home: a space designed for how the family actually gathers, cooks, and spends time together, built to serve them well for years rather than chase a passing trend.

The result is a home that fits naturally into Bay Harbor's rhythm — close to the club, close to the water, and built for the long term.
