Our story
For more than four decades, McBride has built and cared for some of Northern Michigan’s most distinctive residences. We are based in Petoskey, and most of our team has lived here most of their lives.
Our craftsmen understand this landscape, this climate, and the expectations that come with building along Lake Michigan, Harbor Springs, Walloon Lake, and Crooked Lake. That kind of knowledge is not learned from plans alone. It comes from years of experience in this specific place.
We are deliberate about the projects we accept. Principal involvement is personal and consistent. Quality requires attention, and attention requires focus.
A home in Northern Michigan must do more than look beautiful at completion. It must perform through winter winds, freeze thaw cycles, and decades of real use by family and guests.
We build for longevity. Materials are selected for how they age. Systems are chosen for reliability and long term service. Details are resolved early so they do not become future concerns.
The homes we built in the 1990s are still beautiful today. The homes we build now are intended to feel just as relevant in 2050 and beyond.
We believe that being part of a community carries responsibility. Over the years, we have supported local schools, youth programs, and organizations that strengthen Northern Michigan. Not for recognition, but because this is home.
